How do I switch between maps?
The Map Layer Panel, located at the bottom right of the map, lets you select your favorite map view.
The Map Layer Panel
The Map Layer Panel allows you to switch between different maps, styles, overlays, and additional layers.
We try as much as possible to show you the best combination- but you also can change it to your personal preferences.
Map
This is where you choose your base map. This selection dictates the data that is used inside the map as well as the styles and activities available.
If OpenStreetMap or the Outdooractive Map are selected, vector data will be loaded. All other maps are available as raster data.
You cannot select different styles for Topo Maps, as these are only available in their original format.
Satellite is available as a style, because we display additional information for orientation and provide an activity overlay as well. This information itself comes from different base maps, i.e. OpenStreetMap or the Outdooractive Map.
Style
If OpenStreetMap or the Outdooractive Map are selected as your base map, then you can also change the map's style
Ways and activities
For OpenStreetMap, Outdooractive, and Topo we also provide the option of displaying overlays for separate activities. This is done by taking the data from the related base map.
This is not possible for other raster-based maps, because their format and activity are pre-defined.
Weather & climate
If Weather is selected as the style, you can choose which parameter you are most interested in.
Weather is actually not presently available in the app.
Additional layers
The layer Slope angle is directly related to the chosen base map.
The other layers display dynamic content from the platform, effectively in real-time.
