The "Traumpfade" hiking-trails of the Rhine-Moselle-Eifel area
Walking on the “Traumpfade” (dream paths) is really lovely:
Once covered in red-hot lava, the East Eifel is still dominated by volcanic cones and crater lakes: In the Eifel, you can hike along dream paths like the ‘Boos two-maar tour’ or the ‘Volcanic trail’. Juniper heaths, thick forests, gently bubbling mountain streams, castles and ruins also feature along the dream hiking paths in the Eifel.
Lined by sun-drenched vineyards and steep slate slopes, the Moselle meanders through the valley carved deep into the rocks. On a day walking along a dream path along the Moselle, you can discover where they grow the wine you can enjoy later on in the evening.
The walks along the Rhine have, of course, been shaped by the powerful flow of the river: steep mountain slopes with jagged rocks and sweeping vineyards, winding paths through thick forests leading to castles and amazing viewpoints.
