Germany's most beautiful hiking trails in Rhineland-Palatinate

The trade journal Wandermagazin (https://wandermagazin.de/) has been awarding Germany's most beautiful hiking trails every year for almost 20 years, awarding hikes from all corners of the nation in the categories of day tours and multi-day tours (long-distance hiking trails). In the public vote in 2023, German hiking fans were also enthusiastic about several routes from Rhineland-Palatinate and voted them onto the podium! Three Rhineland-Palatinate hiking trails made it to the top in the vote for the most beautiful day hikes in Germany this year : Bronze secures the almost 11-kilometre-long Traumschleife Lecker Pfädche through the Hunsrück, silver is won by the leisurely Auenlandweg in the Westerwald and first place was awarded to the demanding HeimatSpur waterfall experience route in the Eifel! In previous years, some routes from the Rhineland- Palatinate shine in the public vote, so we have put together a clear list of the most beautiful hikes in the competition from the regions of Ahr, Eifel, Hunsrück, Lahntal, Moselle, Nahe, Palatinate, Romantic Rhine and Westerwald. The paths lead you through mystical deciduous and coniferous forests as well as deep valleys with rugged rocks on which imposing castles tower steadfastly over mighty river bends. In the tranquil wine villages and small hamlets along the way, fun-loving and hospitable people await you, who will be happy to give you a warm welcome.
