The Hirschenstein trail stretches from St. Englmar to the Hirschenstein (1095 m). In the middle section, it leads eastwards along the ridge from Knogl to Ödwies, circles the Hirschenstein summit and runs along the ridge back to St. Englmar.
The trail can also be reached via the Rauher-Kulm and Grandl-Ödwies trails from Kalteck and from Grandsberg via the Serpentinen and Grandl-Ödwies trails.
