The starting point of the winter hike is the romantic Peace Chapel in Malbun, at the foot of the impressive Ochsenkopf massif. During the hike, which takes about two hours, you can enjoy magnificent views of the valley and the well-known winter sports resort. The highlight of the winter hiking tour is Sassförkle, at 1,786 m the highest point. From here you have a breathtaking view of the Augstenberg and the untouched snowy landscape around Malbun. The leisurely descent leads via the Alpe Sass to the Schneefluchtlift and back to the heart of Malbun.

If the weather is uncertain, there are alternative routes, some by public transport, to avoid the higher altitudes.

Liechtenstein Trail Winter Stages
- Stage 1 Balzers-Triesenberg - leads from Balzers in the extreme south of Liechtenstein to Triesenberg, you pass the medieval Gutenberg Castle, follow the old Roman road, climb to the St. Mamerten Chapel and up to the Walser village of Triesenberg. - 3rd stage Nendeln-Eschen-Gamprin/Bendern-Ruggell - from Nedeln you go via Eschen, Gamprin-Bendern to Ruggell, in Eschen you can expect some smaller ascents and descents, which can be rushing in snow, the route length is 15 km.
- 4. Stage Ruggell-Schellenberg-Mauren-Schaanwald - from the northernmost municipality of Ruggell, the tour leads through the Ruggeller Riet, then over the Schellenberg to Mauren and Schaanwald, in Schellenberg a few ascents and descents can be slippery, best to bring sticks, the route length is 19 km.
